1. Bloomberg “Palladium Caps Longest Rally in 14 Years as Demand Gains” July 8, 2014

Palladium capped the longest rally since 2000 on signs that demand will climb for the metal used in pollution-control devices in cars amid lower supplies from South Africa, the world’s second-largest producer.

2. Bloomberg “Palladium Touches 13-Year High on South African Strike” June 11, 2014

Palladium futures reached the highest since 2001 on concern that supply will be restricted by a four-month mine strike in South Africa. Gold capped the longest rally since April. 

3. "Record Car Sales Extending Shortages in Palladium Supply" January 8, 2013
Demand for palladium, last quarter’s best-performing precious metal, is exceeding supply for a second consecutive year as mine production stagnates while sales by automakers, the biggest buyers, reach record highs.
4. "Platinum Has Longest Rally in 25 Years; Gold Gains on QE3" September 14, 2012

Palladium futures for December delivery rose 1.5 percent to $699.30 an ounce. The metal climbed for the 10th straight session, the longest rally since June 2000.

Aluminum, nickel, palladium and gold may benefit from China’s shift toward consumption-driven growth from an economy fueled by investment, while agricultural products are set to lag behind, according to Barclays Capital.

Silver, platinum and palladium surged. Palladium futures for March delivery climbed 2.8 percent to $635.20 an ounce on the Nymex, rising the most since Dec. 30.
